As a makeup artist they are good times and there are bad times. For example The ‘Rona’ is spread really fast. So what do you do as a makeup artist considering your services are not essential. Here are a couple of things you could consider before you get overwhelmed with the feeling of hopelessness.
Book Keeping
June is around the corner (tax returns are due then) and even though you haven’t busy this is a good time to get your excel sheet . Nancie Mwai has prepared really amazing sheets that are friendly and easy to use. Please remember your sheets need formulas it then makes it way easier to keep track of your expenditures.
Clean And Sanitize Your Kit
This is going to keep you mad busy because you’re not only doing this to your brushes but your eyeshadow palettes, foundation bottles all your accessories.
Marketing
This is the perfect time to market yourself, how will they know about you if they haven’t heard about you.
Prepare a timetable on posting online and what you are going to post. I recently came up with this because I would spend my whole day on social media tracking my progress but that’s very unnecessary.
Up date your website with information on beauty affairs that are trending. Change your profile photos this is just gives your clients something new to look at. Also consider frequently posting on Linkedin.
Practice New Techniques
There’s no better time to practice upskilling like now. I know many of us worried with no bookings and you’re not sure when the next booking is coming. This is the right time to pick up your brushes and practise new skills. Bing on youtube read blogs look at what’s trending on Instagram as well.
So, I hope this was super helpful please comment or send me an email if you have questions. I’m always happy to answer.
