Hi, fam so over the past few months I have managed to lose a tone of weight ‘hoot hoot’. Now other than me being extra proud of my achievement someone asked me whether I’m going through a midlife crisis! This caught me off guard, I know it’s a term that is occasionally used when a man buys a sports car or generally changes his lifestyle. Begs the question what do women go through? Do they have a midlife crisis at all?

So I got down and did some research and I came across this article. I was really shocked because I actually never considered I’m going through a midlife crisis. “And some women admit to getting Botox or making some kind of drastic change to their appearance during this transitional period. (A footnote: Women are more likely to go through a midlife crisis earlier than men, often between the ages of 35 and 44.)”

So, am I going through a midlife crisis? WELL! I would love to say no but, I think I’m actually going through midlife crisis. How was I never warned about this?

I went through the article very carefully and everything seems to check out (insert crying emoji).

Let me just point out the symptoms for you:

Feeling Like You’re Not Yourself Anymore

This is a phase I’m struggling with, losing my temper so fast in cases that are uncalled for, I also forget things easily I can stand up to head either to the kitchen or to the bedroom and I won’t remember what I wanted to do there.

Insomnia

I have always been an early riser since I was a young girl like that is not enough I wake up in the middle of the night and just watch the clock…ok I watch series at this time

Boring Life

Well, the whole of 2017 I felt like my life was one pile of garbage. “Boredom—feeling passionless—can be a sign of a midlife crisis,” says Dr Ludwig. “The truth is, the pressures of adulthood can weigh people down at this time—they can feel stuck in a rut—where the opportunity to introduce fun for fun’s sake can get lost.”

Concerned About My Apperience

Now this is where my gym obsession comes in, there’s an urge to look younger feel more energized

PS they really is nothing wrong with this phase in life

Comparison

When you start comparing yourself to your friends I would like to introduce you to the midlife crisis this really is not healthy for you mentally. All I can say or what helped me is, I’m not the same I was yesterday what can I do to be different tomorrow.

I hope this article helps I was very impressed that it was not just me losing a grip but it is something women actually go through.
