So, if you follow me on my social media you know about the drama that unfolded last year lol. Let me just give a brief flash back of what exactly happened for those who don’t follow me.

So I finally decided we need a holiday and when I say we I mean my hubby and I. I was pretty excited about it and I had my whole artillery planned out. As I was packing I wanted to pack a few products because of me posting on my IG (you know when a makeup artist says a few products it actually means half of what they own). I remember I had a few reservations and that’s why I left a few of my favourite products home.

Now, I had a few stories about our local airline Kenya Airways but, I never thought it would happen to me. Let me not just blaming them but South Africa’s airport also has a few stories but I was so excited I will be away for a couple of days with nothing to think about but where are we going to eat (yes I’m a hog I love food like gold).

So when it came time to unpack I didn’t open any other bag but the one that had my makeup and my whole damn makeup bag was missing I was stunned and hurt. Very many things ran through my head like, I should call Jack Bauer on these guys, better yet Terminator I haven’t finished those thoughts “I’ll be back” ( Arnold Schwarzenegger voice)

Anyway, I digress so I’m totally torn apart and my hubby he’s trying to calm the situation and throws ” we will buy new products” in-fact it was like ” Si we will just buy new products” even my tears just dried up immediately.

So how do you pack your makeup? Here are a few guidelines on what you should consider.

  • bubble wrap your foundation separately
  • carry your brushes in your hand luggage
  • bubble wrap your palettes
  • label fragile
  • also, wrap the case with wrap found at the airport.

I feel bad I had to learn the hard way but you don’t have to. So I was there on holiday rocking one look because the two products I had in my bag was a lipstick and lip pencil.

Here in Nairobi you can buy bubble wrap rolls in a few places such as

  1. Office Mart (though its out of stock)
  2. jiji.co.ke (have a few people selling)
